1993

It all began

T-Meeting was founded in 1993 by brothers Max and Faruk Tairi.

With their experience as interpreters, they recognised the challenges deaf people face in everyday communication and their lifelong dependence on interpreting services.

They chose to invest their knowledge of interpreting and communication into technology – to create the best possible conditions for deaf people to communicate remotely.

Our vision was clear

All deaf people should be able to communicate on their own terms – wherever they are. We brought our knowledge of communication into technology – not the other way around.

2001

The first videophone

In 2001, T-Meeting introduced one of the world’s first portable videophones for deaf people.

At a time when most people were still using stationary video systems, we developed a mobile solution that made it possible to communicate using sign language – almost anywhere.

The portable videophone gained international recognition and became an important step towards the mobile video communication we use today.

2010

Touchscreen and integrated camera

In 2010, T-Meeting took the next step.

We launched a new generation of videophone with a touchscreen and integrated camera, making communication even more intuitive, natural and accessible.

With improved video quality, easier operation and smarter features, we set a new standard for video communication for deaf people.
